Configuring TSP under Windows 95/NT

In order to make TSP be able to work properly with TSP through the Looking Glass, its application settings have to be properly configured. When you install TSP 4.4, these settings should be already made. However, it has been our experience that occasionally the settings are changed, either by the user or by Windows automatically. Following are instructions for how to restore the settings to the correct state.

LOCATE THE TSP EXECUTABLE

The first step is to locate your TSP executable. It is most likely to be found in the C:\TSP44 directory, Using the Windows shell or Explorer, select tsp.exe, right-click and select Properties from the popup menu, which will display a tabbed dialog box.

MEMORY SETTINGS

The memory properties for your copy of TSP should look like this. However, see the question about virtual memory in our TSP FAQ for more information on setting the DPMI memory value.

MISC SETTINGS

The only settings on this tab you need to concern yourself with is the "Always suspend" check box. If it is selected, turn it off.

PROGRAM SETTINGS

We have a screenshot showing out the settings on this tab of the dialog box should be set.

There are several settings on this tab sheet which can cause problems. The first is the "Close on exit" check box. This option must be checked in order for TSP through the Looking Glass to work. If there is a directory reference in the "Working" field, delete it and make sure it's completely blank. Also make sure the "Batch file" field is empty as well.

SAVE THE SETTINGS

After you have checked both options, click OK and close the dialog. TSP through the Looking Glass will now be able to run batch files with your copy of TSP.
