Configuring TSP under Windows 3.1

In order to make TSP be able to work properly with TSP through the Looking Glass, its application settings have to be properly configured. When you install TSP 4.4, these settings should be already made. However, it has been our experience that occasionally the settings are changed, either by the user or by Windows automatically. Following are instructions for how to restore the settings to the correct state. Under Windows 3.1, it is also possible that there are global settings for all DOS programs set in a file called _default.pif in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.

LOCATE THE PIF EDITOR

The first step is to start the Windows 3.1 PIF Editor, which should be found in the Main program group. Once the PIF Editor is running, select Open... from the File menu and locate the PIF file corresponding to the copy of TSP you want TSP through the Looking Glass to use when processing your batch files. Usually named "TSPPIF.PIF", it will be located in the same directory as your copy of TSP, most likely the TSP43 or TSP44 directory at the root level of your machine's hard drive.

CHECK THE SETTINGS

Once the PIF file is open, check the following things:

SAVE THE SETTINGS

Select Exit from the File menu to quit the PIF Editor. If it asks you to save your changes, click OK. TSP through the Looking Glass will now be able to run batch files with your copy of TSP.
