TSP 4.3 system requirements & platforms supported

The following platforms are currently supported by TSP 4.3. For platforms supported by TSP 4.4, please see the requirements and platforms supported page for TSP 4.4.

DOS/WINDOWS 3.1/WINDOWS 95/WINDOWS NT

This versions runs under DOS and as a DOS application under all flavors of Windows as well as OS/2. It allows on-screen editing in interactive mode - you can use arrow keys to repeat and edit commands. It also has the best graphics capabilities of any TSP version.

System Requirements: Math Coprocessor* and...

• 2mb RAM (DOS)
• 4mb RAM (Windows 3.1)
• 8mb RAM (Windows 95)
• 16mb RAM (Windows NT 3.51/4.0)

* Note: if your machine does not have a math coprocessor we have a N87 version available. It will not produce high-resolution graphics, however. Please contact TSP for more information.

OS/2

This version runs under OS/2 only. It will not produce high-resolution graphics, but runs much faster under OS/2 than the DOS/Windows version.

• System Requirements: Math Coprocessor & 3mb RAM

MAC OS

There are three versions of TSP available for Mac OS systems.

• Mac TSP for 68K: Mac TSP for 68K Macs (Macs using the 68020, 68030 or 68040 chip) requires a math coprocessor (also known as a floating point unit, or FPU). If you do not have a math coprocessor, you may be able to use the SoftFPU program to emulate one. SoftFPU is shareware, available over the Internet or from TSP International. It does not work with the 68LC040 chips (used in Performa and LC 630s as well as the Powerbook 500 series) and will slow TSP down.
  • System Requirements: Math Coprocesor (FPU) & 4mb RAM
    
• Mac TSP for 68040: Mac TSP for Quadras (Macs using 68040 chip) is optimized to take advantage of the Quadra's speed.
  • System Requirements: Math Coprocesor (FPU) & 4mb RAM
    
• Power Mac TSP: A native version for Mac OS systems using PowerPC chips.
  • System Requirements: 8mb RAM

UNIX SYSTEMS

• Sun for SunOS and Solaris
• RS/6000 AIX 3.2
• HP 9000 HP-UX 9.0
• DEC Alpha OSF/1 (a.k.a. Digital unix) 2.1
• DEC MIPS Ultrix 4.4 (also runs on 4.3)

• NeXT for Motorola (Mach 3.x)
• NextStep for Intel
• Data General DG/UX (Unix V.3):
• DEC Alpha OSF/1 1.4 (older OS; see above)

Since system requirements for Unix can be highly idiosyncratic, please contact TSP if you have specific questions on whether your machine can run TSP or not.

HARD DRIVE SPACE REQUIRED

On all platforms the TSP application and attendant files require about 2mb of hard drive space when decompressed.
